Peppy numbers
Pep Figueiredo can't get over the fact that his amateur music video version of Aaj Ki Raat from the film Don has crossed 1,000 hits on youtube. Shot over two months, the video - a tribute to the classy rhythms of the song - is now turning into a hot favourite on the vlogging circuit.
Coming a close second is his version of Chal Ud Chale from the film Bhagam Bhaag, which depicts a guy who takes his motto in life - 'to be a follower of women' - too seriously. The video follows this desi Don Juan chasing one woman after another. "The feedback I got on youtube helped me understand my flaws and improve. It's this interactive element of video blogging that's got me hooked," says this self-taught movie editor.
With several technically brilliant moments, the fact that the videos were shot on an off-the-shelf digital camera seems unbelievable. But Pepito's indelible bond with his Sony w70 Cybershot becomes clear when you meet him. Though inspired by Hindi film music, he is disappointed by their picturisation. "I could've done a much better job on Barso Re from Guru".- IMDb Mini Biography By: Shwetha Nair - Donning the Director's Hat - Times Now - 19th November 2007
